Generics & Specialities was founded by Mr. Sanjiv Kapoor who is the Group Managing Director. Sanjiv holds a Masters degree in Economics has over 30 years of varied experience in Africa.
Kartik Kapoor
Managing Director
Kartik Kapoor holds an economics degree from Vassar College, USA and a post-graduate business management degree from IE Business School in Madrid. He has worked with IMF in Washington DC and has recently joined the business as Director
Pradheep Cherilath
Group CEO
Pradheep Cherilath brings over 33 years of extensive multifaceted experience to the pharmaceutical industry. His career spans 25 years of international engagements across East and Southern Africa, notably with companies such as Core Parenterals, Ranbaxy, Cadila Pharma, Glenmark, Emcure, and Opera Pharma. Most recently, Pradheep served as Head of East and Southern Africa at Axa Parenterals.
Rajesh Kumar

Rajesh Kumar is a Commerce graduate and a qualified Chartered Accountant, registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, bringing over 24 years of diverse experience in Finance, Audit, Taxation, and Administration. Throughout his career, he has held key leadership roles across the Manufacturing, Processing, and Service sectors, where he has demonstrated expertise in financial management, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning. Rajesh is known for driving operational efficiency, ensuring financial discipline, and delivering measurable business results through effective leadership and a solutions-oriented approach.
Umashankar Govindraj
Country Head, Mozambique
Umashankar T.G is a seasoned international business leader with over 27 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales and marketing, with a strong track record of driving growth across diverse markets. He has held leadership roles with prominent pharmaceutical companies including Micro Labs, Ipca Laboratories, Ranbaxy, and the Zydus Group in the Indian market, managing large teams and overseeing strategic operations across multiple regions. Umashankar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and a Doctorate in Management Studies. He is recognized for his strategic vision, strong execution capabilities, and excellence in customer relationship management.
